The National Paralegal Awards 2019
Entry Criteria


Entries can be submitted from companies or individuals providing they meet the entry criteria for the category they are applying for.  The awards are open to all Paralegals in both the regulated and unregulated sector.


You can nominate an individual, enter your company or enter as an individual.

Entries can only be submitted online.

Each entry must contain at least 500 words and is limited to 1000 words per entry.

Entries must be submitted with evidence. This can be testimonials from clients or colleague about your work, a case study example (you do not need to give confidential information), references to online reviews, proof of qualifications. 

The supporting evidence must be in one file uploaded and in not included in the word count.

If you are nominating an entrant, we will contact the entrant for further information and supporting evidence.  Only one entry per organisation per category.

You Should Include

  • Details of your experience and qualifications
  • Share your achievements and how you are performing well in your chosen sector.  If you are nominating someone ensure you have all the correct information.
  • Include information such as client testimonials, case study.
  • Share how you have developed a reputation in your area of expertise and how you stand out from your competitors.
  • It is important to include your achievements. Be clear about how you reached objectives and targets and why these are significant.
  • Then you must supply adequate evidence to support your entry in one document. Video files cannot be uploaded, please host the video and include the link in your entry or supporting documents.
  • All entries will be treated in the strictest of confidence

Terms & Conditions of Entry

  • Ensure you are eligible to enter and have entered the correct category. 
  • Entries will open on 1st November 2018 and close on 23rd January 2019 at 5pm, Entries received after this date will not be included. 
  • Finalists will be announced on 1st February 2019
  • Explain in no more than 1000 words why you deserve the Award: what you set out to do and what has been achieved.
  • Provide one document submitted on a PDF with up to 4 pages of evidence.
  • If you are nominating, ensure you have included your details.
  • Entry is online only via this website.
  • Entries must be received by 5pm on the 23rd January 2019, organisers reserve the right to extend the closing deadline.
  • The organisers reserve the right to withdraw categories with insufficient entries.
  • You should receive confirmation by email within two days of entering. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact
  • You will be informed, by email, if your entry has been shortlisted on 1st February 2019.
  • The announcement of the winners will be made at the National Paralegal Awards on 29th March 2019 at Radisson Bloomsbury. Do not enter if you cannot attend the final.
  • The final is open only to finalists, their guest and sponsors and tickets will need to be purchased prior to the event.
  • Each winner will receive an engraved trophy. No cash alternative will be provided.
  • The judges’ decision is final. No Correspondence will be entered.
  • The promoter is The Professional Paralegal Register and the organiser is Viva Business Support.
  • Strict limit of one entry per organisation per category 


These Awards are designed to showcase and celebrate Paralegal talent from across the UK. Our categories reflect the variety of specialisms and roles which exist in the Paralegal sector. 

Our sector specific categories require you to be working as a paralegal in this field. It is open to employees and self-employed and businesses.


In all cases our judges will be selecting companies or individuals who can demonstrate outstanding legal skills, client satisfaction, innovation and development.


Categories 1-3 are open to any sector of law

1. Paralegal of the Year - sponsored by Which Legal

An individual that can clearly demonstrate how they have performed and exceeded client expectations and has made a significate contribution to their practice

2. Paralegal Business of the Year - sponsored by The Institute Of Paralegals

This category is open to any paralegal business that can clearly demonstrate how they have performed and exceed client expectation and can prove how they excel as a leading paralegal business.

3. Paralegal Recruitment Organisation of the Year

This category is open to any recruitment companies which specialise in Paralegal recruitment or who recruit for paralegal positions
